Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Travel with Teens and Tweens blog carnival. The goal of this blog carnival is to showcase bloggers who write about family travel topics that involve teens and tweens. In pulling this first edition together we’ve met some insightful, creative and entertaining writers – both adults and teens. We hope you enjoy getting to know them and will follow them all on a regular basis.
Teens and Tweens Travel the Globe with Their Families
Dee Andrews presents
Pompeii Through the Eyes of a Child, posted at Travel and Travails, saying, “Traveling with our tween and experiencing history through her eyes was a wonderful experience for our family.” Dee’s blog chronicles her family’s year living abroad, the unique places they traveled and the lessons and challenges they experienced.

Lisa Bergren hosts
The World is Calling blog which feature posts about her family’s global travels with teens and tweens and also offers opportunities for guest posters to discuss their trips as well. Lisa’s recent
Eating on a Budget in Paris article reminds us of the high cost of food in France, particularly when exchange rates don’t cooperate. Her suggestions about bakeries, farmers markets, and snacks give hope to parents going abroad who want to keep ravenous teens well fed. A The World is Calling guest post by Sarah Shonts chronicles a rustic family adventure in

Olivia Bergren (daughter of Lisa mentioned above) who runs her own travel blog,
Teen Travelers that we love because it gives us real insight into what teens think of their travelling families.
Next Blog Carnival - Articles on Teen and Tween Travels Toward Independence
We hope you enojy the posts featured here and make some new friends in the blogsphere as well. We’ll be back with another blog carnival again in mid April. We are particularly looking for articles that provide a parent’s and/or teen’s view on travels that involve the teen’s journey to independence, whether it is about the first time you took a tween to sleep away camp, stories about road trips to visit colleges, teen experiences with foreign exchange and gap years abroad, or the trip that took an older teen off to college or to their own apartment for the first time.
Submit your blog article to the next edition of teen and tween family travel using our carnival submission form or by sending email to maryt <at> travel-with-teens <dot> com.
