Cafe Noche: Serves Up a Mexican Fiesta in Conway, NH

Monkey Trunks High Ropes Course is a Hit with Teens

          As part of our whirlwind family with teens review weekend in the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire, we had the good fortune to spend a few hours at Monkey Trunks on Route 16 in Chocorua, NH.  If you’ve got teens or tweens (or moms and dads) that are looking for a challenge and an adrenaline rush this is the place to go.  Located about a half hour drive south of North Conway, Monkey Trunks will test your limits in a safe, supervised and incredibly fun setting.  Our teen gave it an A+ and says she has to go back!       Set on a former farm, the site features the amazing 3-level 25 foot tall Discovery high ropes course, complete with zip line and 40-foot drop zone.   Nearby, the 65 foot high Jungle [...]

Merrill Farm Resort - North Conway, NH

           Home base for our visit to the Mount Washington Valley, NH was the delightful Merrill Farm Resort in North Conway.   Owned and operated by the Smith Family, this unpretentious, family friendly resort has 62 units that range from traditional guest  rooms and motel units to larger family loft units and updated cabins that include efficiency kitchens, fireplaces and outdoor grills.  Most units come with mini-fridges and air conditioning.  The Resort offers a number of discount packages with local mountains and attractions and accepts AAA.  We found Merrill Farm Resort to be a friendly and comfortable location for our weekend visit to the Mount Washington Valley – we wish we could have stayed longer!       The Resort is located on land originally farmed by the Thomas Merrill family in revolutionary times.  The parlor, lobby and three [...]
