Arbortrek Canopy Tour a Thrill for Teens at Smugglers' Notch

    Smugglers’ Notch ski and snowboard resort offers a wide range of off-slope activities for the whole family.  One of the most recent additions is the Arbortrek Canopy Tour, a 4-season thrill ride featuring 4,500 feet of ziplines, skybridges and rappeling through the forest valley below the Notch.    As part of our visit to Smuggs, the Arbortrek team offered #1 son the opportunity to take the 3-hour tour.      The tour is open to kids as young as 8.  Kids and teens under age 16 need to have an adult along while 17 and 18 year olds can participate on their own as long as mom or dad signs a waiver.    On #1 son’s tour the group was a mix of adults and families with teenage or college age kids.   The [...]

Why Smugglers' Notch is Tops for Teens

Ski Vermont: A Teen's View from the Top

     While the princess labored to learn snowboarding at the foot of Vermont’s ski mountains, her brother skied the mountains from top to bottom armed with a new camera he found under the Christmas tree.  These photos mark the first time one of the teens has contributed images to our blog so we are thrilled to share one teen’s views from the top of the Burke Mountain and Bolton Valley ski areas.   For more details on the mountains themselves check our snowboard story.      The trails beckoned on a rare cloudless Vermont winter day!      Then on to Bolton Valley which was covered in hoar frost and sparkled in the sun. Two Top Colorado Ski Resorts for Families with Teens

           Our checklist for picking the best ski resorts for families with teens includes a lodging set-up that allows teens a fair amount of independence and a range of on and off slope options for everyone in the group.  We found the following three resorts that fill the bill in New Hampshire.
